1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [AptiEd legal entity name], a company registered in England and Wales (company no. [COMPANY NUMBER]), registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("AptiEd", "we", "us"). By accessing or using AptiEd you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Where a student is under 18, the student's parent or guardian also agrees to these Terms on their behalf.

2. Description of Service

AptiEd is an online learning platform aligned to the UK curriculum. Depending on your account type and plan, the service may include AI-generated video lessons and lesson scripts, quizzes and assessments, progress and exam-priority analytics, a careers hub, parent monitoring, teacher class-management tools, and one-to-one tutoring sessions. Some content is generated using artificial intelligence and is intended to supplement, not replace, formal education (see Section 10).

6. Student Progress and Data

  • Parents with approved linked accounts can view their children's progress data

  • Ensure information provided about their children is accurate
  • Review privacy settings, linked-account approvals, and account activity regularly

8. Fees, Subscriptions & Payment

AptiEd offers a free tier and paid plans. Current plans and prices are shown on our Pricing page, which forms part of these Terms. Indicative pricing: Free (£0), Standard ([STANDARD PRICE]/month). Prices include VAT where applicable and may change on [NOTICE PERIOD, e.g. 30 days] notice.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time via the customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card details; payment data is handled by Stripe under its own terms and security standards.
  • Tutoring is charged per session (pay-as-you-go), not as a subscription — see Section 9.
  • Refunds (subscriptions): statutory cancellation rights apply. Except where required by law, fees already paid for a current period are non-refundable. [CONFIRM SUBSCRIPTION REFUND POLICY].
  • Failed payments may result in suspension of paid features until resolved.

9. Tutoring Sessions & Recordings

  • Booking & payment: tutoring is booked and paid per session. A session is confirmed by the tutor; payment is taken in accordance with the booking flow and processed via Stripe.
  • Cancellation: either party may cancel a session. Cancellation and refund eligibility are governed by our cancellation policy [CANCELLATION WINDOW, e.g. 24 hours] — late cancellations or no-shows may be charged in full. [CONFIRM TUTORING REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY].
  • Recordings: a tutor may make a session recording available for the student's revision. Recordings are stored securely and used only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy. You must not redistribute a recording. For students under 18, recording is subject to parental consent.
  • Conduct & safeguarding: sessions and messages may be monitored and retained for safeguarding. Parents of a linked student may be notified of session activity.
  • AptiEd facilitates the booking and payment but is not a party to the educational relationship except as set out here. [CONFIRM TUTOR ENGAGEMENT MODEL — employee vs. independent].

10. Notifications & Communications

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law AptiEd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total liability is limited to [LIABILITY CAP, e.g. the fees you paid in the preceding 12 months].

  • For violation of these Terms of Service
  • For fraudulent or illegal activity, or on safeguarding grounds
